Conference Overview

Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that APASL ONCOLOGY 2026 Tokyo will take place on April 2 (Thu) and 3 (Fri), 2026, at the Ito International Research Center, The University of Tokyo.

As an official sub-conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL), this event aims to promote international collaboration and academic exchange in the field of liver oncology. Under the theme, "Treatment Dynamics of Liver Tumor," we will explore the latest therapeutic developments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC). Topics will include surgery, interventional radiology, endoscopy, molecular-targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. The program will also address the challenges of optimizing treatment selection and sequencing, featuring interactive components such as hands-on workshops and video-based sessions.

The venue is located on the historic campus of the University of Tokyo, where renowned professors such as Dr. Omata, Dr. Makuuchi, and Dr. Shiina once trained. The conference will be held during Tokyo's cherry blossom season, with Ueno Park, one of the city's most famous viewing spots, just a short walk away. The area is rich in cultural attractions, including museums, a zoo, and the historic district of Asakusa. With convenient access from Haneda and Narita airports, and a wide range of affordable accommodations nearby, it is an ideal location for international attendees.

We anticipate welcoming approximately 100 international and 200 domestic participants, and are especially committed to supporting young physicians and researchers. Alongside the scientific program, we are pleased to offer a unique cultural experience, "Tea Ceremony with Professors," fostering cross-generational and cross-cultural networking in a relaxed setting.

We are now accepting abstract submissions from researchers and clinicians worldwide, and encourage you to contribute to this exciting program. Your insights and experiences will help enrich the discussions and drive the future of liver tumor management.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tokyo in full bloom for what promises to be a vibrant, high-level scientific meeting filled with meaningful connections and academic exchange.

With highest regards,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of APASL ONCOLOGY 2026 Tokyo
